Sworn Translation

A sworn (certified or notarized) translation is a document officially translated with full faith and credit in order to be deemed valid by third parties. In most Anglo-Saxon countries the translation is done by one professional but sworn by a notary public. In Brazil, a Public Sworn Translator is a professional duly authorized by the country's Registries of Commerce to translate and notarize a document.

Which documents need a Sworn Translation?

Simple texts: passports, civil registry certificates, identification cards, driver's licenses and the like, including personal letters with no legal, technical or scientific content.

Special texts: legal, technical, scientific, commercial, including banking and accounting, school transcripts and diplomas.
